Bicycles are a convenient means of transportation in Tokyo’s everyday life.
Sometimes it may pose a problem in rental condominiums, so be sure to check the rules regarding bicycle parking lots in advance.
Some bicycle parking lots incur a monthly fee, and limit the number of bicycles you may park in them.
If there is not a bicycle parking lot, please always check if you are allowed to bring it into your room. Be careful as to not to scratch or damage the room and hallways.
Bicycle insurance is mandatory in Tokyo as of April 1, 2020. Please purchase liability insurance, in order to be prepared should you be injured or a large amount of compensation be required due to a bicycle accident.
